Happy Mother’s Day! I’ve been spending a lot of time with my mother today so I haven’t had the time to write too much until now. Today’s pose is Boat pose or Navasana.
Here is my Boat in a dirty parking lot next to the Waffle House. No mat. No problem!
Make sure you aren’t sitting on your sacrum but your ischial tuberosities of the pelvis (some people call those sitz bones).
Feel free to modify by bending your knees or holding your legs with your hands. If your low back hurts in this pose, MODIFY.
If you are doing yoga in a parking lot, make sure to bring hand sanitizer.
I hope you took the time today to love and appreciate a mother in your life. It doesn’t have to be the one who gave birth to you. Find that nurturing caring force in YOUR life and express gratitude, even if it’s gratitude for how well you mothered yourself.
